Part 1: The Mystery in the Empty Apartment
Colonel Sami walked slowly through the abandoned apartment, examining every corner as if his eyes were searching for the answer to a perplexing question. A neighbor had reported strange noises coming from the apartment late at night, and Sami had been sent to investigate.
He reached the bedroom, where he found a neatly made bed and an open wardrobe, completely empty. There was no sign of anyone having been in this room, not a single piece of clothing, not even a hair.
Sami turned to the window and found it tightly closed. There was no sign of a break-in or forced entry. Everything seemed normal, except for the strangeness that had taken over the place.
He went into the kitchen and found the sink full of dirty dishes, as if someone had been in a hurry to leave. But even stranger was a cup of coffee that was still hot on the table.
"How is this possible?" Sami asked aloud. "Who drank this coffee, and where did they go?"
Sami began to feel a strange chill creeping over him. There was something very strange about this apartment, something that went beyond the bounds of logic.
